    Teorías sobre el hipertexto

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
A new robotic system for Search And Rescue (SAR) operations based on the automatic wristband placement on the victims’ arm, which may provide identification, beaconing and remote sensor readings for continuous health monitoring. This paper focuses on the development of the automatic target localization and the device placement using an unmanned aerial manipulator. The automatic wrist detection and localization system uses an RGB-D camera and a convolutional neural network based on the region faster method (Faster R-CNN). A lightweight parallel delta manipulator with a large workspace has been built, and a new design of a wristband in the form of a passive detachable gripper, is presented, which under contact, automatically attaches to the human, while disengages from the manipulator. A new trajectory planning method has been used to minimize the torques caused by the external forces during contact, which cause attitude perturbations. Experiments have been done to evaluate the machine learning method for detection and location, and for the assessment of the performance of the trajectory planning method. The results show how the VGG-16 neural network provides a detection accuracy of 67.99%. Moreover, simulation experiments have been done to show that the new trajectories minimize the perturbations to the aerial platform.Universidad de Málaga. Get PDF
The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between Mexicans’ financial fragility and the following variables: financial literacy, savings, assets owning, financial shocks, financial education, and financial inclusion. Likewise, socioeconomic and demographic characteristics associated with financial fragility are identified. The dichotomous Probit model is used for the analysis, estimated with data from the 2021 National Survey of Financial Inclusion. The results show that financial literacy, savings (formal and informal), financial education and possession of assets are negatively related to the probability of being financially fragile. High income and holding formal and informal savings are the most robust predictors of financial fragility, with a marginal effect of -9.40%, -5.34% and -5.27%, respectively. The probability of being considered financially fragile is related to low income and a low educational level, plus having overspent in the last year. The findings can be useful for financial education strategies design, to provide the population financial training in resources administration and protection against income decrease

Pennatulaceans are an important component of benthic marine communities usually related to soft bottoms. Despite their important ecological role, as yet little is known about their origin and divergence time. The first attempts to establish phylogenetic relationships among genera date from the early 20th century, when only morphological characters were available. In the last decade, phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial DNA sequences from a selected number of species have proposed a different hypothetical ancestor for this group, but their intergeneric relationships remain obscure. The present study is based on a combination of mitochondrial and nuclear markers (mtMutS, Cox1 and 28S rDNA), adding new molecular information about the phylogenetic relationships among the pennatulacean genera, including 38 new sequences belonging to 13 different species. Some of the phylogenetic relationships inferred in the present study question the current classification of sea pens based on morphology (at different taxonomic levels), clearly indicating that the two main groups Sessiliflorae and Subselliflorae, some of their main families (e.g. Pennatulidae, Umbellulidae, Virgulariidae) and some genera (e.g. Umbellula, Veretillum) are non-monophyletic. In addition, the veretillids, traditionally considered the most primitive pennatulaceans, are not shown as the earliest-diverging taxon. Moreover, an analysis of divergence time performed here suggested that the origin of the pennatulaceans dates from the Lower Cretaceous (Berriasian, ~144 Ma), in agreement with their sparsely known fossil record, while the initial divergence of most extant genera occurred in the Oligocene and Miocene times.

The Use of Led Technology and Biomass to Power Public Lighting in a Local Context: The Case of Baeza (Spain)

    Get PDF
The impact of public lighting on consumed energy, financial cost, use of raw materials, and the environment is a major concern nowadays. The high amounts of energy needed to satisfy the increasing demands of cities around the world has led researchers to look for alternatives to classical fossil sources, with low implementation in public lighting up to date. In this context, circular economy (CE) proposes a new perspective of engineering based on smart design for the future life of products where even wastes have an added value as technological nutrients for other applications. A convergent consideration of CE and the urgent necessity of more sustainable public lighting leads to this proposal. The ad hoc use of a local biomass plant for powering the public lighting of one small city is considered, and important conclusions reinforcing the link between lighting and CE are presented. This research was supported by the European Regional Development Fund (European Union), the Government of Spain (Research Project ECO2013-47027-P and ECO2017-84138-P), the Regional Government of Andalusia (Research Project P11-SEJ-7294), and SEJ 232 Research Group Management and Organization for Competitiveness

    Get PDF
The reproductive features of Jersey cattle breed were determined, and the non-genetic factors that affected the features, service period (days), calving interval (days), gestation length  (days), and gestation service per insemination performed, were assessed. Records of  150 calvings between  204 and 2013 at Los Pinos  UEB, Triangulo Tres  Cattle Raising Company, in Camagüey, Cuba, were used. The cows were inseminated with semen from the same breed. SPSS, version 11.5, was used to  calculate the basic statgraph, analyze variable normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test), the Levene´s test, and multiple linear analyses of variance for each dependent variable.  The non-genetic factors that affected the service period and calving interval were  the calving  number, season, and year.  The values achieved for the service period features and calving interval were  259.2 ± 13.2, and 539.8 ± 13.2 days, respectively. The dura-tion of gestation (280.6 ± 1.6 days), and gestation service (2.2 ± 0.2 services  performed) were not affected by any of the non-genetic effects studied

Supplementary content related to this article has been published online at https://doi. org/10.1016/j.heliyon.2019.e01280.The cruise tourism industry has experienced significant growth in recent years and has a very positive outlook for the future. However, its environmental impact requires a review of its sustainability, including the analysis of its social, economic and environmental balance, and the evaluation of its impact on port cities receiving cruise ships. The purpose of this document is twofold: First, to analyze the relationship between air quality, as an environmental variable, and the volume of cruise ships and passengers that visit a port with the aim of generating information. Secondly, it is intended to develop an index, based on the information already available that allows cities to predict the impact of this activity, so that decisions are made to alleviate these effects. Methods: The primary data taken monthly for the period 2006–2017, related to the level of emissions and the number of cruises and passengers, are used as a basis. A regression analysis is performed to determine the relationship between air pollution and the number of tourists coming from the cruise ships. As a contribution, the results show the influence of this type of tourism on environmental indicators. In addition, in an original way, a regression function is established that allows estimating the future impact of the cruise industry in the ports cities. So that, cities can prevent this type of environmental impact. This will make it easier for the cruise tourism industry to develop more sustainable models in the long term. This work was supported by Research Project ECO2017-84138-P MINECO , AGENCIA ESTATAL DE INVESTIGACIÓN and FEDER (EU)

Dynamic analysis of self-oscillating H-bridge inverters with state feedback

    Get PDF
This paper presents a comprehensive approach to analyze the dynamics of a generalized model of resonant inverters using nonsmooth dynamical system theory. The model simultaneously covers both parallel and series resonant inverters under state feedback control. The multi-parametric physical space is reduced to a plane, which is divided in several regions with different dynamical behavior. The boundaries separating these regions are located by solving their corresponding equations and it is found that they all emerge from a singular point in the parameter plane. Suitability for applications of these regions is emphasized, thus providing useful criteria for parameter selection.Postprint (author's final draft

Bifurcation patterns in homogeneous area-preserving piecewise-linear maps

    Get PDF
The dynamical behavior of a family of planar continuous piecewise linear maps with two zones is analyzed. Assuming homogeneity and preservation of areas we obtain a canonical form with only two parameters: the traces of the two matrices defining the map. It is shown the existence of sausage-like structures made by lobes linked at the nodes of a nonuniform grid in the parameter plane. In each one of these structures, called resonance regions, the rotation number of the associated circle map is a given rational number. The boundary of the lobes and a significant inner partition line are studied with the help of some Fibonacci polynomials.Postprint (author's final draft
